Elevating theatre in Brockville since 1933

Join us at our first annual one-act festival . . .

  • In this hilarious play, written by Peter Paylor, the Rosewood Art Society is holding a board meeting, rehashing the same old topics, until the issue of artistic censorship comes to their attention. When the town wants to ban nude paintings, the Society must find a way to work together for freedom in art.

If you've ever participated in a boring committee meeting, you'll be amused by the characters in this play, each with their own foibles and pet peeves.

This play features many seasoned theatre veterans, such as Pat Marshall as Alice, who is the curmudgeonly complainer, and who may or may not be the town prude, Neil Matheson as Walter, who bores everybody about Winston Churchill paintings and his hippy days in Squamish, BC, and Lisa Leroux, who is in love with Walter.

Other cast members are Will Wright, Sherry Leeder, and Joanne Riddell.

    Director Lorraine Palmer-Smith

    Stage Manager Heather Matheson

Producer Cathy TeKamp assisted by Ingrid Doucette

  • Youth Opportunities in the Arts is presenting Delayed by Laurie Allen, a poignant study of three strangers who are stranded in an airport, waiting for a plane that keeps getting delayed. We can all relate to travel delays and the strangers you meet, who share your emotional thoughts.

Cast : Liz Barlow as Sylvia, Connor Harris as Charles, and Sam Guay as Whitney.

Director and Producer : Drew Morley and Dallis Campbell sharing the duties.

The YOA Board is encouraging young people to spread their wings and mount a stage production on their own with this production. The Board is available for advice but is providing opportunity for experimentation and growth.

  • Rabbit by David Foxton is the St. Mary Drama Team’s entry in the Festival.

This thought provoking production was the winner of an Adjudicator's Award for Production Excellence at the National Theatre School Drama Festival held in Gananoque at the Thousand Islands Playhouse. in early March.

In addition, this production received an Excellence in Acting Award for Sierra Bingley's performance and an Award for Original Musical Composition for Andrew Hudson's music.

The cast of 28 students is led by Sé Flanagan, Kendra Gibbons, Reed Hutton, and Sierra Bingley.

The play is set ten years after a nuclear catastrophe, where only children survived. The children are now teenagers and have to navigate survival and an imbalance in the naturally formed government.
